OUR Statement of Fath

this is what we believe

We believe that there is one God, eternally present in three persons: Father, Son and Holy Spirit. [Genesis 1:26; Deuteronomy 6:4; Matthew 28:19; John 1:1-4, 14:10; 1 Corinthians 8:6]

We believe God is all powerful, all knowing, ever present, unchanging, completely worthy of our trust, and above all, holy. God is good: He is our Father. He is loving, compassionate, and faithful to His people and His promises. [Numbers 23:19; Leviticus 19:2; Malachi 3:6; John 3:16, 5:26; Acts 17:28; Romans 3:3-4]

We believe that Jesus Christ was born of the Virgin Mary, lived a sinless life, died for our sins, was raised from the dead and is at the right hand of the Father to return again someday to earth to reign as King. [Isaiah 7:14, 9:6; Matthew 1:18-23; John 1:1-14, 14:10-30; Hebrews 4:14-15; 1 Corinthians 15:3-4; Romans 1:3-4 Acts 2:22-24; 1 Timothy 6:14-15; Titus 2:13]

The Holy Spirit is present in the world to make men aware of their need for Jesus Christ. He provides Christians with power for living, understanding of spiritual truth, and guidance in doing what is right. The Holy Spirit comforts us, enables us to use spiritual gifts, and makes us more like Christ. [Genesis 1:2; Joel 2:28-32; Luke 11:13, 12:12; John 15:26, 16:7-14; Acts 1:8, 2:1-4; Romans 8:11, 26-27; 1 Corinthians 3:16; Ephesians 1:13-14]

We believe that mankind was created in the spiritual image of God, but fell from relationship with God by voluntary disobedience and is lost and powerless to save himself. We can never make up for our sin by self-improvement or good works. Only through accepting Jesus Christ’s substitutionary sacrifice for our sins, can we be saved from sin's penalty and restored into fellowship with God. [Genesis 1:27, Romans 3:23; 5:1; 6:23, Ephesians 1:7]

We believe the entire Bible is the inspired, infallible, authoritative Word of God and should be the supreme and final authority in our lives and faith. [Isaiah 40:8, 2 Timothy 3:15-17, Hebrews 4:12, 1 Peter 1:25, 2 Peter 1:20-21]

We believe in the power and significance of the Church and the necessity of believers to meet regularly together. We believe that the Church is composed of all those who acknowledge Jesus as Lord and Savior. It is committed to the teachings of Christ and obeying all of His commands, and it seeks to bring the Gospel to the world. The Church works together in love and unity, intent on the ultimate purpose of glorifying Christ. [Matthew 16:18; Acts 2:41-47; 16:5; 20:28; 1 Corinthians 9:13-14; Ephesians 1:22-23; Colossians 1:18, 3:15]

We believe that water baptism by immersion in the name of the Father, Son, and Holy Spirit, in the authority of Jesus’ name, should be followed by all believers as a public profession of their faith in Christ. [Matthew 28:19, Acts 2:38; 8:36-38]

We believe that the holy ordinance of Communion (The Lord’s Supper) should be received by believers walking in fellowship with the Lord Jesus Christ as a remembrance and celebration of what Christ accomplished for them on the cross. [Luke 22:19-20, 1 Corinthians 11:23-29]

We believe we will either exist eternally separated from God by sin or eternally with God through forgiveness and salvation. To be eternally separated from God is hell. To be eternally in union with Him is eternal life in Heaven. Heaven and hell are real places of eternal existence. [John 3:16,36; Romans 6:23; 1 John 2:25, 5:11-13; Revelation 20:15]
